| Judging List Criteria

an up to date copy of the judging list, please contact the
Secretary
A1 List:
persons the Club would support, and who have previously been approved by the
KC and have carried out the appointment, to award Challenge Certificates
in the breed.
A2 List: Persons who would in
principle be approved by the KC to award Challenge Certificates and who
have achieved the necessary criteria to be included on the A3 specialist/
non-specialist list and achieved the minimum training needs for first time
CC judges.
A3 List: Persons the Club would
support to award Challenge Certificates but who as yet have not been
approved by the KC for inclusion on an A2 list.
Breed Specialists:
- A minimum of 10 years' active involvement in Basenjis.
- A minimum of 7 years' Basenji judging experience.
- To have completed a minimum of 7 appointments in Basenjis, including
at least 1 show with a minimum of 30 dogs present and judged.
- To have judged a minimum of 100 Basenjis.
- To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 Basenjis when they obtained
their first entry in the KC Stud Book (except in special
circumstances).
- To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer and
passed the relevant examination on Regulations and Judging Procedures.
- To have stewarded at 12 shows.
- To be prepared to write a show critiques as customarily required by
the Canine Press.
- To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on
Conformation and Movement and passed an assessment (from July 1st,
2005).
- To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar run in
accordance with the relevant KC code of Best Practice and passed an
examination and/or assessment where applicable.
Non-Breed Specialists:
- To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.
- A minimum of 7 years' judging in any one breed to include 5 years'
judging Basenjis.
- As for Breed Specialists.
- As for Breed Specialists.
- To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when the
obtained their first entry in the KC Stud Book (except in special
circumstances).
- To have attended at least 1 Basenji breed seminar and passed an
exam/assessment as applicable.
- To be prepared to write a show critiques as customarily required by
the Canine Press.
B List
Breed Specialist:
- To have a minimum of 3 years' active involvement in Basenjis.
- To have judged a minimum of 20 Basenjis.
- To have attended a seminar on the interpretation of the Basenji
Breed Standard and to have passed an exam/assessment; to have attended
seminars on ring procedure, show regulations and conformation and
movement.
- To be prepared to write a show critiques as customarily required by
the Canine Press.
Non- Specialist:
To have judged the Hound Group at Championship shows but are not
eligible for a higher list. OR:
- To have a minimum of 5 years' judging Basenjis.
- To have judged a minimum of 30 Basenjis.
- As for Breed Specialists.
- As for Breed Specialists.
C List:
For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have
the support of the Club. |
